Spent my entire afternoon today listening to Delhi 6 songs and I am completely in love with this one, so much so that I looped this song and heard it for about 3 hours!! Any details i give about this one, will probably not do enough justice to the song, so all I am gonna say is just listen and let me know if you dont like it!

Masakalli - Delhi 6

Rehman is one of my favorite composers - from the time he swept away Bollywood with his Rangeela. The latest album from Rehman is Delhi 6, and to say the least it appears that he has completely played with the music this time. Each song in this album is something that you would have never heard before.

Over the years, waiting for a Rehman soundtrack has become an event in itself, The man, his music defines popularity...with a ton of fan sites dedicated to him .making terms like Rehmanisms popular. Though I do end up liking his music eventually, s-o-m-e-times my first take on his music will be... **** [ seeing stars]. Delhi 6 started that way. The first song I heard from his album Delhi 6 was Masakalli - what was that supposed to mean? anyway, i loaded it on my ipod and heard the song and i was shattered - there was nothing I liked about the song... and then after a couple of hearings I have begun to appreciate it for its rustic beauty.

Recommendation: Dont dismiss it at the first shot - hold on and like most of Rehman's music the music will grow on you slowly!
